PV Master Modes Explained

PV Master Modes Explained

There are 3 kinds of Work modes available in the PV Master app:

General Mode
Back-up mode
Economical mode

General Mode

The General Mode is the standard mode and is recommended in most situations. During this mode, self-consumption of the PV is prioritised. From the PV Supply point of view, the generated power will first supply the local loads, then charge the battery and finally export any excess power to the grid.

From the load consumption point of view, the power will first be provided from the PV. If it’s not sufficient the battery power will be consumed and if PV + battery is still not sufficient, power will be imported from the grid.

Economical Mode

The Economical Mode provides 4 groups of programmable charge/discharge schedules. These schedules can also be repeated on a daily or weekly basis. Note that per schedule either charge or discharge is activated. Both cannot be realised on the scheduled timings. Economical mode is ideal for peak or off-peak periods where charging the battery is ideal during off-peak period and discharging the battery is ideal during peak periods. The General Mode applies outside of the scheduled timings of the Economical Mode.

Back-Up mode

This will keep the battery charged at all times and only discharge it during backup operations (e.g. during a power grid failure).
